In 1957, with 11 founders, the Mississippi Gem and Mineral Society was born.  In 1958, the Society was chartered by the state of Mississippi.

Our society requires a membership in order to participate in our activities, such as field trips, attending classes on the lapidary arts, which includes wire-wrapping, silver-smithing, cabbing, and faceting.

If you enjoy any of the following activities, such as collecting mineral specimens, collecting fossils, mining for gemstones, faceting, cabbing, or making jewelry; then the Mississippi Gem and Mineral Society is the society for you.

We invite you to return to our pages to see what new is happening and to see exquisite example of fine jewelry, and from time to time videos on one of the classes that our members/instructors teach.
